About the project
Kompis is a hospital robot designed to act as a companion for hospitalized children. It is supposed to be a friendly companion that will keep the child in constant contact with friends and family when they are unable to attend at the hospital. Kompis is also a pedagogical tool for the children to learn about their disease and getting them to understand their situation better in a natural way. By being present at all times, even during difficult procedures, the robot will become a safe companion to hold on to at all times. Kompis is also designed to activate the sic child by encouraging it to play and move around. Activity speeds up the healing process and makes the hospital a happier place.
